Game Designer
Shape the core loops, systems and feel of our original games from prototype to launch.
All positions
- Games
- Remote · Europe-friendly time zones
- Full-time
About the role
Alongside our everyday apps, Tunugi builds original games: small, polished and built to be played for years, not just weeks.
As a Game Designer you will turn rough ideas into playable prototypes, then into systems that are easy to learn and satisfying to master. You will work with engineers and artists every day and test your ideas with real players early and often.
We prefer fair, respectful design. We want players to come back because the game is good, not because of dark patterns.
What you'll do
- Design core loops, mechanics, progression and in-game economies
- Build quick prototypes and run playtests, then iterate based on what you see
- Write clear, lightweight design docs and balancing spreadsheets
- Design levels, onboarding and tutorials that teach through play
- Work with analytics to understand retention and difficulty, and tune accordingly
- Collaborate closely with engineering, art and audio on game feel
What we're looking for
- 3+ years as a game designer, ideally with at least one shipped title (mobile, PC or console)
- A portfolio showing systems, levels or prototypes you designed
- Comfort with a game engine such as Unity or Godot for prototyping
- Strong spreadsheet skills for balancing and economy design
- Ability to explain design decisions clearly and take feedback well
- Nice to have: free-to-play economy experience, scripting skills, or a love of puzzle and casual games
